The Program for the Enhancement of Professional Institutional Management Ability

In this era of technology, data have become a new asset for businesses of all sorts. While higher education faces a time to demonstrate accountability, collecting, analyzing, and interpreting data and further transforming them into useful information for decision-makers at all levels is an important foundation for universities to effectively improve the administration of their institutional affairs. Based on the “Operational Guidelines Governing the Preapproval of the Funding Program for the Enhancement of Professional Institutional Management Ability in Universities by Ministry of Education”, announced by Ministry of Education on May 13, 2015 (Issue No. 1040048294B), the NCTU promoted the establishment of the Institutional Research Office and designed four main lines of development:

  • Integrating databases related to professional institutional management in the university
  • Using databases to assist the coaching of students in their study and career planning
  • Constructing the big data decision system for professional institutional management
  • Coordinating with the Smart Campus Program to enhance the collection and application of real-time dynamic information
